Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is a gentle soft-tissue therapy which allows the body to reset and heal itself. The therapist performs a series of precise rolling movements that release muscular tension and activate the parasympathetic nervous system sending the client into a deep state of relaxation and allowing the body to repair itself. These rolling movements are unique to Bowen and result in habitually contracted muscles lengthening and over-stretched muscles relaxing to regain their optimal resting length. As the muscles return to their ideal state, impinged nerves may be released, and the skeletal structure rebalances as the force from unbalanced muscles are removed. This often results in pain lifting and posture improving following a Bowen Technique session. Consequently Bowen can help with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.

Bowen may help with:

  • Back, shoulder and neck pain
  • Sciatica and scoliosis
  • Frozen shoulder
  • RSI, tennis elbow, and carpal tunnel syndrome
